Someone once told me to put in 100% for all trainings.
So why put in 100% for trainings?

100% are not our limits, they are what we can and should be.
And that if we ain't 100% of ourselves, then we are faking, lying and not being ourselves.
One could only improve if they give in their 100%

You took a long bus trip down from your house to Macr, warmed up and spent LONG time listening to training programs planned just for each individual one of you. Next, you spent time showering and cleaning up after training, keeping the equipment and finally take a LOONNNGGG bus trip back home after waiting for hours for a stupid bus 93.

Is all these worth, if 100% effort is not put in during trainings?
If you hadn't done your finishing burst well enough?
If you haven't give in your best for every single stroke?

Shall leave the conclusions to you guys =).

I'd like to share an attitude with the team prior to the previous posts
SWEAT in PEACE, BLEED less in WAR
(adapted from 100 ways to motivate yourself by steve chandler)
What is this????
"... ...
The great boxer Muhammad Ali used to use this principle in choosing his sparring partners. he's make sure that the sparring partners he worked with before a fight were better than the boxer he was going up against in the real fight. They might not always be better all-around, but he found sparring partners who were each better in one certain way or another than his upcoming opponent. After facing them, he knew going into each fight that he had already fought those skills and won."

Put in more hard work before our actual important events.
Be it pw, exams or any of our races.
yes, it means more hard work and sweat and short term pain.
but it also means more chances of winning, more long term pleasure and less tears and bloodshed.

Let's do the short term pain, and gain our long term pleasure!

In today, or rather yesterday's training.
Ms Lim has talked to us a few things about our team
So yeahh, basically, she hopes everybody will take real good take of our bodies (which i apparently am not, but i will!) and really want us to ask ourselves what we want from canoeing and what we are going to do for it and our team!
Also reminding us again about our small team size: two absent means 16% of team effort gone.
We really like-a cannot afford it!(x.
Let's do this, together!

Ohh and we set goals for ourselves remember? Lets recap:(not the exact words)
Jon: my goal's to catch up with colin! beat him if i can!
Miangs: get my strokes right
Ric: i duno...(lol!). i wanna maintain my balance!
Ziye: I hope to reach the 500m mark and back
Junan: I wanna catch up with jeremiah
Jems: i wanna perfect my strokes
Alvin: MS (lol! so secretive!)
Capt colin: I want to win a k1 Medal!
Jason: i want to balance better on my boat
Chunkang: (forgot! sorry bro!=pp) stm is kicking in!
If the above is incorrect please tell me!=)

Hope we all remember what we set and have in mind and that this will bring us further in trainings to come=)

*Sarah and Javin if you a personal goal in mind, feel free to tell the team!
let's work hard tgt!

Hello team!
Sounds lame but this is a place built for MJCanoists only!
Hope this place will spur us on when we're burnt out and keep us inspired and motivated throughout our canoeing journey=).
It may not be updated regularly buts, hope the team can chip in whenever you are free=D.
Ask me for the user and password!

TEAM - a four letter BIG word. Are we a team yet? How are we supposed to be a TEAM?
HUHHUHHUH? here's how!

WE ARE A TEAM!
"the inches we need are everywhere around us!" and EVERYONE of us in our small team has to contribute that inch! Every inch we gain, we're a step closer to winning; a step closer for our team to succeed!=). Like what Bryant had said: everything we do determines the end result! faster? or slower?

DONT EVER THINK that we are too small to win, yes we are a small team, all the more we have to push ourselves further, push ourselves over the boundary!!>.< argh! NO LIMITS NO BOUNDARIES!

"On this team we fight for that inch; on this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces! For that inch! We claw with our fingernails, for that inch! Because we know! when we add up all those inches, that's gonna make the f***ing difference, between winning and losing! Between living and dying! and i'd tell you tell, in a fight, it's the guy who's willing to die who's gonna win that inch!"

Are you ready to join in:
TO FIGHT FOR THAT INCH!
TO DIE FOR THAT INCH!
are you ready?
Are you ready:
TO GO THAT INCH TOGETHER WITH ME?
TO SACRIFICE FOR THIS TEAM?
Well i'm ready! and when all of us are, we are TRULY, a team.
and i know, for our goals, we will all sacrifice for this team, as anyone else will, for us!
Ms Lim maybe our coach who's willing to put her life, and die for this team. BuTS! she cannot win our races for us. She cannot move us if we dont want to!

SO step up, STEP UP! and tell us, tell us ALL you are ready, ready to contribute that inch, ready to sacrifice, for that inch!
TELL THE REST: WE ARE A TEAM!
